However, unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. In our testing the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot vacuum cleaner sale to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.
