WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrade by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item level upgrade (the original source) will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Crests

Another notable change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
