The LED lighting can be altered to a different color, which is a nice feature. The interior of the refrigerator features an intelligent finish that reduces the chance of smudges, and also makes cleaning easy. But it also has a few nagging issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF gets warm quite a bit in the freezer, and can get uncomfortably warm in the fridge's interior shelves. That's reflected in our heat maps which show how the interior temperatures fluctuate minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange area in the upper right corner is particularly warm during our testing period. This might not appear to be a problem at first however, the fridge is spending the majority of its time at 32 degrees.

It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which may be a consideration for certain buyers. The issue is that the fridge isn't the best. It's not equipped with the latest features and a durable construction which makes it difficult to recommend it over more expensive models at this price.

In many ways, this Frigidaire is a stainless-steel model of fridge you might see in your local appliance store. It's a good choice, with a brushed finish that looks good and is impervious to scratches, but it doesn't make a lot of an effort to differentiate itself from other brands that have more features and more affordable.

Still, if you're shopping for a cheap counter-depth French door refrigerator but don't have the budget to splash out on our top selections, then the FGHC2331PF is worth considering. It's got enough storage to meet the needs of many families and does an excellent job of keeping food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient model, it doesn't come close to costing the same amount as our top-rated models do.
