French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door fridges combine design and function. They have stylish double doors that reveal an enormous fridge on top and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features such as through-the-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd.

We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect and the founder of LS Projects - for her suggestions on how to pick the right one. We looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency, among other factors.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The name implies that the GE Profile series is targeted at those who want to incorporate cutting-edge features in their kitchen. This fridge has them all from the Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs an extra amount, I'd like to see better.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about par for an French door fridge costing this much. It also has a decent sized ice maker that is tucked away in the left door, though it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create customized storage arrangement for what you want to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting is a nice touch. The storage bins in the door come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them to Beverage, Meat, or Deli settings. Created to appear like a seamless piece of your kitchen Bosch's French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food. The Ice maker is among the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped Ice with low water consumption. This fridge is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette that wants a built-in appearance and top-of-the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The freezer temperature remained steady at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never fluctuated by more than a fraction, this is crucial to prevent freezer burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, reaching the temperature that was set for the initial setting within an hour and maintaining that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its top-quality appliances. Therefore, it's not a surprise that Bosch's counter depth fridge Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's platform Home Connect. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is expensive, but it offers excellent features and functionality for the cost.

While the fridge is an amazing appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a narrow space for shelves, so you'll have to think creatively when storing tall objects. LG Counter Depth french door fridge deals Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great option for those who need plenty of space in an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has the standard French door design, and two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There's also a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also has innovative design features such as sliding drawers that allow you to sort your things. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate container for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge, lighting, and more from your smartphone. It's a nice way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. The refrigerator took longer to chill food and defrost it than the other fridges we test. This could be due to the greater capacity.

Another issue with this refrigerator is its doors. The handles that are sunken let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to combine the look of a French door refrigerator with a more efficient design. It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the top counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't break the bank, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic design that isn't as visually striking like some of the competitors, but it has enough features to make it a good choice. Its most notable characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser and a decent ice machine that works fast.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to direct the majority of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends have a better effect than specific ones.

In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent across various parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
