Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are ideal for walking around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight places.

If you are looking for a smooth ride on your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are prone, however, to punctures. Be prepared with an repair kit.

New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, that emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers which can be more versatile in terrain, yet still look elegant and easy to push.

Another thing to consider is the size of the seat and shape. The seat should be large enough to allow your child to feel at ease and to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have a lie-flat option that allows the child to face you, while others only permit a parent-facing option.

Larger wheels

MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground and the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also awed by how well it dealt with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable in the downhills or on a rough terrain."

The only drawback of this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheeler pushchair wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to be aware of especially if you live in a urban area. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better option for you.
