French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Combining form and functionality, French-door refrigerators have elegant double doors that open to an enormous fridge on top and freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out due to their unique features, including through-the-door dispensers as well as higher-end ice makers.

But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better.

Apart from that minor flaw the fridge is a fantastic choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food items compared to other models.

The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a French-door fridge at this price. It also has a decent-sized icemaker packed into the left door, but it's not the largest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create customized storage layout for the items you need to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting adds a nice touch. The in-door storage bins come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their textured plastic coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and has a ton of customization options. It also gives you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE fridges that allow you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. The fridge shows a countdown to reveal how much water is left, but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch french fridge door-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless component in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and two compressors for preserving food items. The Ice maker is among the best we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice with a low water usage. This fridge is perfect for a single family or a kitchenette that wants a built-in appearance and top-of-the best food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never moving by more than a fraction an inch. This is essential in preventing freezing burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and control your refrigerator remotely on your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is expensive, but it offers excellent features and functionality for the cost.

It's important to understand the limitations of your fridge. It is possible to be creative with tall objects because the fridge has a small shelf space. Also the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the fridge. However, they must be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth french door bottom freezer refrigerator with ice maker Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who require a lot of space in the space of a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has a standard french door fridge freezer with ice maker door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. There's also a full-width drawer to store food items and an internal water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also features thoughtful design features, such as sliding drawers that can help you organize your belongings. It also comes with a large french style fridge freezer bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and an ice storage bin.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge and lighting from your smartphone. It's a simple way to monitor your fridge and manage it, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than other refrigerators we tried. This could be due to the greater capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front, which allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, however they're still difficult for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been much better to have front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a French-door fridge's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, making it a great option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door refrigerator that won't break the bank this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a simple fridge which may not be as eye-catching as some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser as well as a good ice maker that operates quickly.

The "Chill Drawer", which sits above the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. The drawer lets you redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power to this area, so that you can store foods which need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, however, I've found that changing the general settings tends to have a better effect than specific ones.

In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary much from 38 degrees. That's a good performance however it doesn't rank among the best in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer to get more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge resistant" finish. It wards off streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
