If you're on a tight budget and don't require a stroller that can double up as a car seat carrier the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip-flop user-friendly.

It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy when you're navigating kerbs and woodland pathways. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into aeroplane overhead luggage. The latest version has independent suspension on all 4 wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly traverse all terrains and types'.

The base YOYO2 frame along with the curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month colour pack come together to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that's easy on the eyes with a subtle yet elegant design and stylish branding. The frame's weight alone is less than a kilo and is so light you can lift it directly from the box (and do it with one hand).

The hood, for instance snaps onto the YOYO2 in a reassuring way. It's also machine washable at 30deg which helps avoid stains caused by smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to stroller at 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents looking for a stroller that is versatile. It transforms from a stroller to wagon just by flipping the handle, which means parents can select the option they want to use on their journey. The wagon can be used by two or more children from 6 months to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than other wagons. This may not be suitable for long journeys or naps.

The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy but it doesn't have the same flexibility as other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it's not able to lock tight after folding. It is easy to move however, and fits through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are looking for a secondary stroller that is affordable. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and a parent cup holder. Other key features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It did better in our push and turn test than a lot of the other strollers we tested, but it is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the most compact we tested, with only a direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

It took us just under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. None of the parts required tools. It's missing some features that we consider essential for a double stroller. They include a large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to accommodate babies from birth to approximately 3.5 years, converting easily between a carrycot and seat with a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible baby carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver and the one-hand recline of the seat and the super large shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. The narrow pushchair sailed through all day bumps and doorways effortlessly.

The front wheels can be locked into forward positions or let them swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along the stony path. It handled the situation well, even though it felt slightly rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is a household name for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler pushchairs for jogging, but they also offer a great selection of 4-wheel strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds up small enough to fit in the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we test, but since it has rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver across various terrains and even with two kids with shopping bags and other items.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be lowered to reveal the UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it does have a large, deep basket to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also use it with the Baby Jogger car seat for infants that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are available separately). The City Tour 2 is a good choice if you want to take a stroller on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was an infant stroller that captivated the hearts of a large number of parents when it first debuted. It's an aluminium framed stroller that will see you through your baby's early days and beyond. It comes with a variety of stand-out features including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy with a flip out eyeshade as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis is equipped with a suspension system built-in that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made from tough foam and minimise punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through tight streets with ease.

It folds in just four steps, and locks automatically with no fuss. It can also be folded and stood up for easier transportation down the stairs or in the car's boot. The travel system is also included with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are easy to use, using a single pro stroller colored and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget single convertible stroller pushchair is surprisingly easy to handle and features an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold, and a handy carry strap. It's also super lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined in many positions and comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and can be used with carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each the other. They can also be set towards the parents. This should lessen sibling fights about who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a large bottle holder, gear tray, snack trays and an adjustable mat. It also comes with an automatic frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who like to stay active. It's among the lightest strollers that you can purchase for your child. It also comes with great safety features, like the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety straps. It comes with a different kind of hand brake than other models that is a twist.

The seat is well-padded and offers a large area to sit, but the seat's depth is less than other joggers we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold up to 10lbs, which is enough for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that fit brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and put together in 5-10 minutes without any tools. The manual is simple to read and contains a variety of languages.
