The robot begins by creating an online floorplan that you can view in the app. The robot then begins cleaning the area it's been mapped, bouncing into furniture, tight corners and other objects with ease.

As it sucks up dirt, it dumps it into its own dust bin which it automatically empties into the Samsung Clean Station when full. This is a huge time-saver and means that you don't have to worry about emptying the bin on your own. The Clean Station can also be used as a charging station for the bot.

This Samsung bot comes with a range of settings that allow you to alter the way it works. For instance, it features a "Smart Power Mode" that adjusts suction depending on the flooring type. It can also choose to move in a zigzag pattern, or move around objects. It is able to stay clear of certain items it believes will cause secondary contamination or pose a risk. This is an excellent feature for those with allergies.

It was able to handle long hair with ease, with very few hair tangles, and with no loss of suction. The brushes tend to clog up, particularly near the nozzles. Be sure to be sure to check them frequently. The app also alerted me when the brushroll was brimming with tangles which is a handy reminder.

The Samsung Jet Bot+ will be a wonderful option for any family that is looking for a more practical method of keeping the home clean. It's a bit more expensive than other robot vacuums but it offers a wide range of premium features worth the extra cost.

Neato Botvac D7

The Neato Botvac D7 is one of the most powerful robot vacuums on the market. It provides excellent performance on carpets, floors with high pile, and pet hair. Its maneuverability and ease of maintenance are top of the line, however it's not able to mop, which makes it less suited for hard surfaces than its competitors. It is expensive and recurring costs.

As with the other models of the Neato Botvac line, this model is distinctive in its "D" shape that gives it two angles that allow it to clean around corners and along walls better than round competitors. Its turret is home to the Botvision sensors, which will scan and map your home to provide superior navigation.

Setting up the D7 is simple: set up a Wi-Fi connection and then download the Neato app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the vacuum to your home's wireless router. Once connected the app lets you to design a cleaning routine and select from a variety of modes. The bots are House, Spot and Manual.

Once it's fully charged, the D7 starts to learn your floor plan. It does this by creating a digital map of your space. When the map is completed it will begin to clean. The process takes approximately one hour for our apartment, though it may be quicker if you use Eco mode which is slower.

It's easy to tell when the D7 is running low on battery power, since the indicator light turns green when it's fully charged and yellow when you're close to running out. The D7 uses a larger battery than the current D8 and can last for up to two hours on its maximum 'Turbo' mode.

While the D7 does an excellent job of cleaning floors with no dirt however, it can get stuck on furniture legs and feet and can't easily navigate up and down the stairs. In these situations, it'll notify the app so you can help it out.

Dyson Ball Multi-Floor Cleaner

The Multi-Floor Cleaner is an upright vacuum cleaner that uses Radial Root Cyclone technology to maximize suction. The brush bar was redesigned to feature shorter, more rigid bristles that can penetrate carpet fibers and capture dirt more effectively without harming them. It also features an updated floorhead that is able to automatically adjust between hard floors and carpets which seals suction. Its wand and hose release in one seamless action making it easy to move up or under furniture. It comes with a full-machine HEPA filter to ensure that allergens and bacteria will be trapped within the machine, rather than released back into your home.

The Multi Floor is a great option for anyone with asthma or allergies. Its powerful suction makes it capable of picking up most dirt and debris from your floors, which includes a lot of tiny particles that are typically scattered into the air. It also performs well on both high and low pile carpet. It comes with an extremely long power cord that makes it easy to maneuver around your home.

It's heavier than some of the other vacuums we tested, however, it's still quite mobile and easy to move from room to room. It also has a bagless dirt bin that can be emptied at the touch of an button. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet and is transparent so you can see when it's full.

It did not perform like the Hoover WindTunnel 2 whole house rewinding on floors that are not bare, but it was able to clean up the kitty-litter and rice that was accumulated on carpeted floors. It also removes more sand from medium-pile carpets than the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe. It's also easier to maintain, and has virtually no ongoing costs as opposed to the BISSELL Bagless Canister.

Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner

Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner has a strong suction and a upright with no bag at a fair cost. It is capable of cleaning pet hair and other debris on both hard floors and carpets. However, it's not the most efficient vacuum in this class and has a tendency to become less efficient when the dirt compartment is filled. This is an issue if you have lots of furniture or pet hair.

The design is fairly sturdy and easy to maneuver, but some users have found it a little heavy for this type of vacuum. The cord isn't very long however, it automatically retracts. One of the features that users appreciate is that it can manage the transition between carpeting and hard floors without switching off the vacuum.

One of the major selling points for this model is the QuickPass brush roll that allows you to clean up surface debris in only one pass. The patent-pending WindTunnel 3 Technology also creates suction channels that lift and remove dirt from the surface, as well as deeply-embedded dirt. The HEPA filter and carbon layer absorb the odors.

Another nice feature that this vacuum features is the rewinding system. Rewinding the cord allows you to take off a few feet at a time, rather than having to unravel the entire cord. It also comes with a range of tools for hoses that let you reach into difficult to access areas.

While the Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner does a decent job on floors that are unfinished but it's not as efficient with larger pet hair and debris. It can also struggle with high-pile rug. In this case, it would be more similar to the BISSELL PowerForce Helix. That model is a bit better-built, has a slightly bigger bin and is easier to maintain, with fewer recurring costs.

Hoover WindTunnel's filter can be rinsed, and should only be cleaned if it displays signs of contamination. This will help you reduce the need to replace the filter and keep your house cleaner for longer.
