It's not as adept at scouring pet hair and other small mess as our top picks, but it's great for budget shoppers. It also has the best app features, including zones that are virtual and no-go cleaning.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a solid and well-built machine that does excellent job of vacuuming dry floors. It has a large dirt storage compartment on the outside that automatically emptys when it reaches the docking stations and cleans up after it has been recharged. It's effective in removing small and medium debris, but has trouble with hair from pets.

This model, similar to the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to understand and remember your home. It comes with a feature that automatically adjusts the suction power and the height of the head depending on what kind of floor it's working on.

During our testing it performed admirably on both hard floors and carpets with low pile. It picked up most of the smaller, more difficult debris that we dropped on each surface, while also taking on the larger crumbs of cereal that we dropped on the carpet. It's less effective at picking up pet hair than other models we tested. It may also get stuck on toys or cords if you do not remove them before sending the robot to clean.

In our tests, it cleaned for about 90 minutes before the battery ran out and it returned to base. This is better than the i7+ or s9+ that was only able to run for 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO has a great track record of remembering its previous run, something we haven't seen on other robots.

The i3+ EVO dustbin measures 1.5 quarts in size, which is smaller than the majority of other robots we evaluated. The bin has a release button on the side that you can press to empty the bin. You can also empty it using the docking station's Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal system, which sucks up the contents of the internal dust bin before emptying it into station's external dirt bag.

The Q5 Pro is a powerful mopping system with a suction of 5,500pa. It can be set up within a matter of minutes. Its 770ml dustbin as well as water tank reduce the frequency of emptying and its capacity is large enough to allow for longer mopping sessions. Its 240-minute runtime also makes it an excellent option for homes with larger spaces. The robot's bagless smart floor vacuum navigation system, which is built on PreciSense LiDAR mapping ensures that it covers the entire room and can maneuver around obstacles.

Unlike some other robot vacuums, the Q5 Pro does not require Wi-Fi for operation. However, it was unable to getting into the tight corners and high-pile recessed areas. It's also more maneuverable and the filtering system does an excellent job of trapping allergens. However, its straight suction floorhead is too low to allow for the passage of medium or large-sized debris. There are other minor drawbacks, such as its lack of sophisticated features and a limited remote control capabilities. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is an excellent choice for those looking for a basic robot vacuum that can mop.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

If you're looking for a smart vacuum bagless innovative cleaner with the ability to mop, the SwitchBot K10 Plus is an excellent option. This little robot has a small size which allows it to fit into tight spaces such as corners and under furniture that larger robots cannot reach. It also has a LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and prevent collisions.

During testing during our testing, the K10 Plus quickly and efficiently vacuumed up dust, pet hair, crumbs and other debris from our hardwood and carpet floors. It also did an excellent job of getting into tight spots like under our beds and around the legs of chairs. It can mop with a separate cloth or use a wet wipe. There is a small package of wet wipes that comes with the K10 Plus to get you to get started.

The app for K10 Plus is easy to use and intuitive. It has a variety of options for customization like setting a no disruption time, altering the layout of the map and setting a timer for when you'd like it to clean. The app monitors the life span of various accessories like the side brush, sensor, and bin filter. This helps you to know when you should replace them.

The battery life of the K10 Plus is also pretty excellent. On a full charge we could get three hours of cleaning. It also recharges quickly. It is able to discharge dirt into a large bin located in the base station after it's finished. It can be very loud, but not as loud compared to other robot vacuums that we've tested.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the high-end S Series lineup above models like the iRobot Roomba J7 and iRobot Roomba i3. It is very good in navigating furniture and is able to work well on various surfaces. The main brushroll is equipped with counter-rotating rubber scrapers which effectively clean most dirt including pet hair from bare floors and carpets. Its suction strength in the real world is adequate for a bagless robot sweeper but not as strong as top-quality alternatives like the Roborock S8.

The design of the Roomba S9+ is elegant. It has an oval-shaped frame that looks more modern than the competitors circular bodies. This alternative shape also helps it to get into corners and along edges with ease. However, it can create dust in these areas if you don't turn the corner brush fast enough. However, its powerful motor makes up for it.

In iRobot’s tests, the S9+ was able to remove kitty litter and pet hair with ease. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, where it utilized its powerful motor to push through the majority of debris and clean all corners and edges with ease. Its vSLAM technology is the most advanced. Imprint Smart Mapping technology also made it one of the top navigators we've tested, and it has a an unshakeable grip on its floor space that could even locate its way through sofas or beds with a valance draped over them.

The setup and operation process is simple using the iRobot app. You can choose the functions you want to start during the initial setup, or wait until you've got an understanding of the way it functions. The internal bin must be manually emptied when it becomes full The process takes about 15 minutes and is quite quiet.

5. Roborock S8

The most recent version of the Roborock S series is an impressive robot vacuum and mop combo with a robust set of features. Like its predecessors, it makes use of a LIDAR sensor and camera system to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance. The mapping system creates a 3D map of your home, which you can view through the app, and it lets you define no-go zones, or certain rooms to be cleaned. The app can also let you control the schedule of your robot and set different suction and mopping modes for each room.

The S8 also features upgraded HyperForce suction that sucks hair and other fine particles effortlessly. The only drawback to the S8 is that its battery doesn't last as long as it could with a battery that can last only 130 minutes of usage when I left it on its normal settings with both vacuuming and mopping enabled. It's still a long time, and enough to get my apartment clean.
