Bentley Keys Are Bold, Adventuresome and Uncompromising

The Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner

With Bentley's 100th anniversary coming up next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. It pays tribute to the company's founder, W.O. Bentley, and Replace even contains a portion of one of his personal cars.

The special model can be ordered with a regular Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by a 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. The 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. Its influence can be felt throughout the cabin and even the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that has a display window with an original crankshaft from the 8 Litre car that is displayed inside.

W.O. is emblazoned in a B-shaped photoetched air vent on the chrome application that runs through the back of the vehicle. The front grille is patterned after 1930s-appropriate Onyx and there's an optional chrome finish around the lower spoilers on the left and right. The front grille also has distinct design, featuring an aluminum shell that replaces the body-color mesh of the Mulsanne. It also features the Flying B Logo.

The key box is decorated with Bentley wings and has the lining of black flock. Key pouches on their own can be purchased to complement or enhance the key box. The set includes a bespoke 1:18 scale model of the 8 Litre and an air-borne 'B' paperweight as well as a printed brochure featuring previously unpublished images of the original 1930s 8 Litre.

The metal-to-metal knurling on the key fob is reminiscent of the textures that are found in the interior, like the controls for temperature of the seat and the shift knob. "We wanted the knurling's appearance to be as smooth and uniform as we could," says Van Braekel. "It was also important to keep the fob with a distinct size and shape."

Bentley Mulliner customers can specify any color from the Bentley portfolio for their Bacalar as well as any combination of hides, veneers or custom embroidery. Around 400,000 stitches are Bentley's signature diamond-indiamond quilting throughout the entire cabin. The mood lighting can be adapted to suit different moods.

The standard exterior features illuminated treadplates, brushed silver clocks, and new 22in wheels with self-leveling Bentley logos. Customers can also have a bespoke Bentley logo laser-etched onto the rear fixing in homage to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. Edition that inspired the car. Bentley's 'Speed' series is a hoot taking the Continental GT's already exaggerated excess and replace turning it up to eleven. But it's not just about the gorgeous exterior or the additional food options -- there's also the improvements to the mechanical like the reworked air suspension and stiffer steering that makes the car less floppy than one would expect in a vehicle of this size.

As you would expect from a British luxury brand, the production of Bentley cars is carried out at Crewe. The factory is fully integrated -all aspects of the car's design, engineering, production and quality are all at a single location.
