If you're on a tight budget and don't want a stroller that doubles as a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip flop user-friendly.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when you are walking along woodland paths and kerbs. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its extremely nimble handling and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to 'perfectly traverse all types and terrains'.

The base YOYO2 frame, curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month color pack create a stylish pushchair that's easy on the eye and has a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame weighs less than a kilo, and is so light you can lift it from the box with just one hand.

The hood, as an example, snaps on the YOYO2 in a reassuring manner. It is also machine washable at 30deg, which helps to prevent the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as an infant stroller. It can also be converted to a stroller by 6 months by using the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a stroller that is versatile. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller to an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then choose which one is the best lightweight single stroller fit for their adventure. The wagon can accommodate two or more children from 6 months old to 5 years old, and it has a wide storage basket that can accommodate everything you require on the go.

The Xplore also has two canopies that move from front to back, providing ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than other wagons. This may not be suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame of the Xplore feels solid and sturdy but it doesn't have as much flexibility as other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the other models and does not secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great option for parents looking for a second stroller that is affordable. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and fold size which means it's light, compact when folded and easy to move into a trunk of a car or closet. It also has an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

It did better in our push and turn test than most of the other strollers we tested, but was still difficult to maneuver over uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage, and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

It took us just under three minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. It is missing certain features we believe are essential in double strollers. They include a large basket, reclining seats, and adjustable leg rests.

The front wheels can be locked into a forward position or let them swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel during our walk on the stony path. It handled the situation well, though it did seem to be a bit more bumpy.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler pushchairs for jogging, but they also offer a great assortment of strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It is simple to use and folds up small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels solid and well-made. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two children and a shopping bag.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods with pull-down UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are waterproof and strong, unlike some other prams' hoods that get turned back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it does have a large basket deep enough to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for infants up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene it stole the hearts of parents everywhere. It's a frame made of aluminum that can see you through your baby's early days and beyond. It has a number of distinctive features like the possibility of flipping the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has a flip out eyeshade, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with a built-in suspension system that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam and reduce punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through tight streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It also stands and can be trolleyed for easier transport in the car's boot or down the stairs at home. The travel system is offered with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors that are included. The brakes have only one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget single pushchair is surprisingly easy to handle and has great dual suspension, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It's also extremely light and sturdy. The seat can be reclined into a variety of different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be configured to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be positioned so that they face each one. They can also be set to face the parents. This will help reduce sibling disputes over who gets seated with mom and dad. It comes with a large bottle holder, gear tray snack tray, and the ability to change mats. It also comes with a compact stand fold, and an automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

It folds down compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The instruction manual is simple to understand and includes multiple languages.
