Good Over Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones

That's why we looked into audio spectrum analysis and subjective listening tests to assess the noise-canceling capabilities of headphones in our review.

Although they can deliver the promised sound however, we prefer the Bose ANC performance and overall experience of the WH1000XM5 headphones.

4. Battery Life

If you're going to drop some hundred dollars on a pair of noise cancelling headphones, you want to be sure they'll last. Good over ear noise cancelling headphones will have a battery life that will get you through the duration of a long flight or week of commuting. That's why we look at battery life during our testing of wireless headphones.

In our tests we've found that the best ANC headphones offer at least 30 hours of battery life. That's enough to get you through a long, international flight or a week of commutes and meetings. Many models go over that threshold. Some models even have 60 hours of active sound cancellation.
