It is crucial to have the right tools on the go when you are in the field. This kit was designed with that in mind and includes all the basic hand tools needed for repairing things in the field. The tools are made from metal with the least amount of plastic so that they can withstand use. The kit comes complete with an open-top canvas coalcracker tools pouch and includes awl, reamer, twist awl cutting shears and gimlet (5MM), wooden spool of sinue, a bottle of coalcracker oil and a set illustrated instructions.

Repair Patches

If you've got a gap or two in your gear, consider adding adhesive patches to your rep kit. These heavy-duty patches come with high-performance adhesives that are applied to a durable polyurethane backing that allows the tear to heal under pressure. Available in clear or colored versions, these patches provide durability against punctures, moisture saltwater, sunlight and temperature extremes.

If your kit does not contain any of the above items, you might want to consider adding a bag with waterproof Aquaseal wader repair sealant. This water-tight adhesive will bond to fabrics and metals to provide an unbreakable fix. This glue is ideal for fixing drysuits, and is also used in the field. Allow the sealant to dry for at least 12 hours prior to using the repaired gear.

The essential field repair kit for nylon tents that have silicone impregnated packs, rainwear, and more. The kit comes with one Clean Tape repair patch and sil-nylon swatch. Also included is a 1/4-ounce Gore-Tex Sealant & Repair Adhesive & Brush and sealant tube. To use, place patch over a smooth, clean surface of the damaged area with a minimum of 1/2 inch overlap. Remove the release paper, and rub adhesive side down with moderate finger pressure.
