The iRobot Roomba 980 best robot vacuum and mop for large house best vacuum floor cleaner combo Cleaner

Robot vacuums remove pet hair, lint and dust off floors before they can settle. They can also stay clear of stairs and other obstacles such as furniture that is tippy.

Most robotic vacs require some maintenance, such as emptying (and occasionally rinsing) the bin, roof22.ru and wiping sensors and cameras. Also, they have to be connected to the power source. Many have smartphone apps for scheduling, adjusting settings and more.

The iRobot Roomba 980, the most recent of a series of top-of-the-line robot vacuums, is an essential for every modern home. This model is incredibly powerful suction and a HEPA filter that will help anyone concerned about allergies. It also comes with an extremely powerful battery that can clean for two hours, and return to its dock automatically when the bin is full.

It also has the feature of smart mapping that uses multiple sensors to suss out the areas in your home that require attention and make a tidy path around them. We've seen this technology in action and it does a good job of maneuvering around toys placed on the floor, or furniture legs that are sticking out from under the furniture. It also has a camera sensor that will snap the Roomba back to its original position when it starts drifting from its actual location.

iRobot has also added a new set of rollers under the Roomba's bottom that don't have bristles and therefore tend to resist tangles more than the previous models. They're also a bit taller than older rollers and can better fit under beds and couches that are low and are designed to allow this model to move more easily on varying floor types.

What makes the Roomba 980 stand out from other models with a higher-end price tag, though, is its integration of the new dirt detection feature that uses cameras to identify particles of dirt embedded. This is a great improvement over the previous version which relied on a sensor-driven pseudorandom cover method to bounce around the room and clean everything at minimum three times from various angles.

The Roomba 980 performed well in our tests on both carpets and hard floors. It scored highly on carpets with a low pile, and on mid-pile. It did a fair job of picking up pet hair, but it was struggling with very thick and long pet fur that was clumped together.

Despite these minor shortcomings, the Roomba 980 remains one of our top-performing robots, and it's not even close to being as expensive as some of the other top models on this list. It has a lot of features you would expect from a top model, but it doesn't have all the best roomba vacuum fancy apps or smart home integrations you'll see in other top models.

The iRobot Roomba can be set up quickly and is available for use immediately. After taking off the yellow bin insert and battery pull tab from the undercarriage, it is simply connected to a wall socket or its Home Base docking stations, click the "Clean button" and let it do its job. It will return to docking station when it has run out of batteries or is full of trash. There are also indicator lights on top that indicate the bin is empty, when it needs to recharge, or when it loses its Wi-Fi.
