It is one of our most appealing looking robot hoover and mop vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.
