Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The amount of bonus varies according to the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that contains the components, or by utilizing high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.
