It can be driven close to walls without crashing and avoids steps, and also raises its mop automatically when it drives over rugs and short-pile carpets. However, it struggled a little when encountering longer-pile carpets and several large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

The S1 Pro is ready to be used right out of the box, and it requires only a quick mapping run to discover your home. The map will be displayed in the app and you can add or join rooms as you need to. You can also design virtual boundaries such as no-mop zones, no-go zones, and no-go zones if you don't want the robot to touch certain items.
