It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumped chain link in the upper chain. The code won't show without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing is a bit challenging because there are two connector pins, and they have different functions however the best way to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms when the sensor is at full operation. If you're experiencing issues with this part, check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had massive power loss like the engine is out of gas or the injectors aren't firing any more. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when i start the engine with no sparks, the 3 with gazoline jump right out. The 4th one remains closed. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get zero Ohm. I assume that the problem is in another location.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is identical to the G4 and both are used in the 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a salvage yard or in a local parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's end).
