World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a significant risk that the item upgrader kit may be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade item system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item upgrader to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
