The best automatic vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover (Continuing) can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to change the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot cleaner robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
