Bedside Crib and Travel Cot

Easy to put together

Bedside cribs are generally easy to put together, and are usually on the smaller side to are able to be placed neatly beside your bed. They are also lighter, making them more transportable. Georgina, one of our MFM home testers, was extremely pleased with the Maxi-Cosi for being "super straightforward to put together, with clear instructions and simple zips." The Next2me Magic, shortlisted for Best Cot, Crib, or Moses Basket in the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, has a larger size but is still small and easy to connect to your bed. Georgina found it easy to put together, though she was not convinced that the zips could have been more clearly described on the instruction sheet.

Easy to clean

If you're looking at bedside cot wooden cribs and travel cots be sure to look for models that have a removable mattress cover that can be machine-washed. This will help keep it clean from leaky nappies, sick babies and dribbles. It's also a good idea to choose one that is able to be disassembled and dismantled in parts, so that you can access every nook and cranny to conduct a thorough cleaning and sanitising session.
