3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra
