French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door fridges combine design and function. They come with stylish double doors that reveal a large fridge on top, and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features like through-the-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the rest.

We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the best one. They weighed storage capacity as well as layout and energy efficiency as well as other aspects.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It has a decent sized freezer in the left side. But, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments for a custom storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting is a nice feature, and the in-door storage bins feature a third shelf that folds down to make it possible to store large items. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and shut however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and has numerous options for customization. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice to have GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill which is a feature found in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to choose the number of cups they would like to disperse. The fridge displays a countdown to reveal how much water is left however it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth french door fridge mitsubishi Door Refrigerator

The Bosch french style freezer-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food. The Ice maker is among the most efficient we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped Ice with low water consumption. This refrigerator is the ideal choice for single household or kitchenettes looking for a built-in look and top of the line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never fluctuated by more than a fraction, this is essential to avoid freezing burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the temperature that was set for the initial setting within an hour and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and manage your fridge remotely using your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is expensive, however it has great features and capabilities for the price.

While the fridge is a fantastic piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, so you may require some creativity when storing tall objects. Also, the shelves are not completely sprillproof, and can easily be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who need lots of space within a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has a standard French door layout, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker making it easy to move the frozen ice as needed. The freezer also comes with clever design features, such as sliding drawers that help you sort your things. It also has a large container to store frozen food items, and a separate one for ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you manage the refrigerator's temperature and lighting via your smartphone. It's a great way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tried. This could be due to the larger capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. The sunken handles allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those who want to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also less expensive than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, making it a great choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice if you want a french door fridge with non-plumbed ice & water dispenser-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It has a simple design that's not as striking in appearance as other models however it comes with enough features that make it a great pick. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser as well as a good ice machine that works fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. This drawer lets you use a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power to this area, so it can be used to store food items that require extra attention. You can adjust the feature using a slider that's located right on the outside of the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling setting for the whole fridge, though I've found that adjusting the generic settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.

In my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary much from 38 degrees. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also combine this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of stainless steel with a grey body that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
