The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning robot mop and vacuum task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
