Bedside Crib and Travel Cot

Bedside cribs are a bassinet-style cot that fixes to the bed's side. They typically have a single side that can be put down to make it easier to reach and some come with an incline that's ideal for babies with reflux.

MFM tester Georgina found this crib very easy to put together and the instructions were clear, making it an easy and quick build. It folds up into the smallest size, and comes with a handy travel bag.

Easy to assemble

It's an excellent option for new mums recovering from a C-section since it is easy to lift your baby towards you to feed them at the night or change their nappies with no need to get out of the bed. It's also a great travel cot that folds flat and popping into a handy bag.

The Next2me Magic, shortlisted for Best Cot, Crib, or Moses Basket in the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, has a larger capacity, but it is small and simple to attach to your bed. Georgina found it easy to put together, though she did find that the zips could have been more clearly explained on the instruction sheet.

Easy to clean

When you're looking at travel cots and bedside cribs be sure to look for models that have a removable mattress cover that can be machine-washed. This will keep it clean and free of dribbles spit-up, and leaky diapers. You should also select one that is easily disassembled so you can clean and disinfect all the nooks.

This is important, as it's the best way to ensure that all dirt and germs have been cleared away. Make sure that the sides of the crib are secure so that your baby cannot slide off or become trapped.
