Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency of manual hoovering. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that requires emptying only once in a while.

There are models that clean and charge on their own, a feature that may be important for people with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.

Both robots do well picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning where it started. The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and many more. It's simple to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well with higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing.
