The best option for Carpet

If you have carpeting, pick an automatic vacuum with a high rating for carpet and rug maneuverability and pickup. Many models are capable of picking up dust in low-pile rugs. Some do a decently job of sweeping up heavier debris such as orzo pasta and metal screws. However, they can't handle small particles like canister or upright vacuums and may also miss ground-in dirt close to baseboards and thresholds.

Best for Hard Flooring

Robot vacuums are a great choice for hardwood floors as they are able to easily maneuver around obstacles without damaging bare surfaces. They are fantastic at picking up dust and crumbs, but they struggle with pet hair and larger debris.
