Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and that has large bins that will need to be cleaned out every now and then.

There are models that mop and charge on their own, a feature that may be beneficial for those with pets or kids. Many of the top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.

Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets, and they can easily navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or by voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility best amazon vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the best robot Vacuum Under 200 on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." 3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an automobile. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum robot for the majority of households, but it also fits perfectly next to a coffee table or on shelves that you can spin around like an enchanted tool.

The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top choices, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it frequently is power-depleted before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, has more advanced automation capabilities and can better maneuver its own. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and many more. The app is simple to learn and use similar to other Samsung devices.

In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it wasn't particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The app lets you access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually should you need to. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. And the ability to create weekly cleaning schedules is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
