It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through an efficient.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well however this is something you'll have to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.

The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated but they're a good robot vacuum thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up pet hair. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair that shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some distinctive features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognizing objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.

Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
