WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade item gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item upgrades from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item upgrades level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Crests

Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1.
