Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or effect while the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary element or material required to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Leveling

The upgrade item system in Path of Exile has some important differences from earlier versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item upgrade doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is an essential aspect of the game and can increase an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item upgrade's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can be of different dimensions, have no elements, or only contain one element. There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. This will display the item's features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their performance.
