WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item upgrades will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade items weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item upgrading slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an Item Level Upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items are from another set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade items is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
