However, it did struggle in the presence of carpets with a longer pile and also large, thick messes of dried-on debris.

Like all robots that vacuum and mop like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to come out of the box and needs only a quick initial mapping run to learn its way around your home. After that, the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or joined when needed. You can also set up virtual boundaries areas, no-go zones and no-mop areas if you don't wish the robot hoover to touch certain items.

The S1 Pro does a great job of removing messes from hard floors due to its rotary mop head that exerts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to both mop and vacuum makes it an excellent option for homes with floors of both types. However, its reliance on Eufy cleaning products (which are included in the box), can make it less flexible than other robots which permit you to include your own cleaning products.
