It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely to mop it is important to pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock that serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning job and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto vacuum and mop-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
