A robot vacuum will save you lots of time and effort in the case of regular cleaning. Top performers do a good job picking up dust and other small particles and many allow you to create no-go zones for pet areas or power cords.

The more expensive models even clean your floors, but they can't climb the stairs. Find models that feature intelligent mapping, real-time hazard avoidance, and large self-emptying bins.

It has a huge charging dock that can last for months without needing to be emptying, and it has impressive navigation skills and auto-emptying on bare floors and carpets. It also has a smart-mapping feature and can be programmed to only operate during certain hours of the day (a useful feature to keep mischievous kids and dextrous pets from causing havoc). The Shark is less powerful than other mop/robot combination models, but it does pick hair and pet hair very well. It's also the best value of our top choices.

Best for Hard Flooring
