BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

It is designed to prevent thieves from putting in keys or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which requires to be entered before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once activated any attempt to start the engine will be immediately blocked.
