UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the old handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever or lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be put in on replacement handles for upvc windows or new doors. This type of handle is available in many styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be set and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The lever that springs is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back from the door. A lever that is shorter can be used for doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle, or two spindles inline or offset. They are generally employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in many variations & finishes.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Chrome, and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with screws and a spindle that allow them to be fitted on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is usually a benefit when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when not in use.

It is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement upvc door handle UPVC spindle and handle. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of door. They work by using a key that unlock a cylinder that then reveals pins which can be aligned with those in the lock body and allow them to rotate a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders come with additional features that increase security further, such as anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. It is important to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This can deflect the attack, and protect your door.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a quicker and simpler method to gain access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located within the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after using. Previously a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring built into them and without this they tend to droop or drop once the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This simple part is the best way to fix this problem. It also prevents your conservatory Door handles from becoming stuck in the open or closed position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please check the image for a detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They have a square cut-out that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are sold as a set.

These spring cassettes offer an excellent value solution to the issue of door handles that have become sagging. They are easy to fit and will prolong the life span of your uPVC doors.
