UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. It is essential to be able to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles used on the majority of bi-fold doors handle. To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. If you cannot measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is essential that it's not too long.

The design of the latest cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in a different direction. This will help to deflect an attack and ensure your door is secure.

There are also cylinders constructed to resist snapping. This is a growing kind of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is attacked using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated inside the base plate of your door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after use. Previously a lot of handles did not have a spring integrated into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or 'drop' once the window locking handles mechanism has been disengaged. This simple part is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also helps prevent your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They won't work with handles that aren't sprung, and you will have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit.
