If you're looking to save money and don't want a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier The Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when you are walking along woodland paths and kerbs. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the ultimate lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its extremely nimble handling and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels made from Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate all types of surface and terrain'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 and the 6months of colour pack come together to create a chic pushchair with a delicate elegant design. The frame's base weight is less than a kilo, and is so light that you can lift it from the box with one hand.

The hood, for example snaps onto the YOYO2 in a reassuring way. It is also machine washable at 30 degrees which helps prevent the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who want a versatile stroller wagon. It can be converted from a stroller to wagon by simply turning the handle, which means parents can choose which mode they prefer on their adventure. The wagon can be used by one or two children from 6 months to 5 years old, and it comes with a large storage basket to accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This isn't suitable for long trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy but it does not flex like other wagons we test. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competition, and it does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to move, however, and fits through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great option for parents seeking a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and a parent cup holder. Other key features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the other strollers we tested, but was still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only a direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

It took us less than three minutes to put together the Delta with a manual. All of the components required tools. It's lacking certain features we believe are essential in double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the most recent version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be easily converted with a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-incar base, and a reversible car.

It's really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the huge shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child in and out of the seat quickly. Despite being a small pushchair, it was able to handle the everyday bumps with ease and was able to pass through doorways without a hitch.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position and can also rotate. This is useful in rough terrain. While walking along the stony path we allowed them to swivel and it performed well although it did seem a little bumpier than others in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is famous for their three-wheeled, all-terrain best single jogging stroller pushchairs, however they also make a good assortment of top rated single strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver over various terrains and even with two kids, a shopping bag and other items.

The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are strong and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it does have a big basket that's large enough to fit an infant's changing bag and plenty of groceries. It can also be used with a Baby Jogger car seat for infants up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a large number of parents when it first debuted. It's an aluminium framed stroller that will be with you throughout your baby's initial days and beyond. It comes with a variety of stand-out features including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with a suspension system built-in that helps reduce the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam and reduce punctures. Our tester found it to be smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through narrow streets with ease.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and raised for easier transport down the stairs or in the car's boot. The travel system is also included with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes are simple to use with single pushchairs action colored and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and comes with an excellent dual suspension. It folds by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also light and robust. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat has two large sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be configured to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and even works with some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can face one another or be turned around to face their parents, potentially decreasing sibling disputes over who gets to sit with dad and mom. It has a huge gear tray, bottle holder snack tray, and the ability to change mats. It also has a superior compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest running strollers that you can buy for your child. It also comes with great safety features like five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It also features a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type used on rival models.

The seat is very comfortable and provides plenty of space to sit. However the seat's isn't as deep as those of other runners (it's just about 10 inches") The storage bin is covered with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold 10 lbs., which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats as it comes, but you can use it from day one with the purchase of adapters for the majority of seats made by brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and put together within 5-10 minutes, without tools. The manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
