The Best Double Buggy Strollers

A double buggy is the best for twins who are due or have two children of different age groups. The best ones are simple to manoeuvre and handle rough surfaces and kerbs.

They also have features like large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that are adjustable.

It's easy to fold the Z-shape by using one hand. Once you get used to it, it is compact twin stroller and can be folded in a matter of minutes. Our tester found the auto-lock a little confusing, and since the handlebar doesn't lock in the position you push it into to the side, it struck her leg when she used it. She also thought the handlebar was on the shorter side. This is especially true when a large changing bag hangs from it.

In contrast to other travel buggies that are lightweight it doesn't sacrifice features and is one of the most comprehensive double strollers available. It's compatible with two carrycots (available separately), features various recline positions, and a UV 50+ canopy. You can also add the bassinet to either or both seats to create an ideal travel system.

The four rubber composite tires are great for pavements as well as urban terrain. However, they're not made for off-roading. They struggled with gravel and long grass and there wasn't enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel which meant that mud could get stuck easily. Our testers loved this buggy, and it was able to climb beautiful dirt hills.

2. iCandy Orange

The iCandy Orange double buggy is the ultimate in style, versatility and quality. It is an essential item for parents who want a chic, high-quality double buggy that will last. The Orange is a stunning light, sleek chassis with a huge basket that easily fits two car seats. It comes with a luxurious, interchangeable canopy that is both water-resistant and air-conditioned. It comes in trendy colours that include Pistachio, Fossil, Latte and Rose on a Jet Black frame. The option of adding a built-in ride for older siblings is also available.

The 2021 update includes a few changes with improved manoeuvrability, and an even bigger, better shopping basket with a re-designed bumper bar and leatherette cover. The seats are very comfortable and have a moulded appearance. They are also adjustable which means they can be positioned according to the needs of siblings. iCandy is the first to introduce a 'cinema seating' design that allows parents to keep eye contact between both children. They can be moved so that they face either the parent or the world.

It's a heavier tandem buggie, however, it's very easy to operate and drive especially on smooth pavements. It feels stable in both single and double seat stroller mode and even on sloped ground. It's not as easy to use on public transport as it requires two hands on the handlebar. It's also heavy and can't be stuffed into a standard car boot with the seat attached, but this can be overcome with careful planning. iCandy has included a footmuff, changing bag and car seat adapters in the price, making this an excellent value package for parents who are new.

This is a tandem stroller that is extremely light. It has two non-reversible seats, which are suitable for babies up to about 3 years old. The rear seat can also accommodate a car-seat.

It has a simple and easy-to-use folding mechanism, making it convenient for storage and travel. It also comes with a huge basket that is perfect to store your baby and toddler's essentials.

The Joie Evalite Duo is a great double infant stroller buggy for beginners because it is a great value for money and is simple to move. It is also extremely light which makes it easy to push over long distances. It also comes with a top-quality suspension system that ensures a smooth ride for both parents and kids.

This is an elegant and practical city buggy that is suitable for twins or a baby and toddler or even three kids with the addition of UPPAbaby's "PiggyBack board (sold separately). Its sleek frame and small dimensions make it perfect for shopping malls and narrow streets in cities. The swivel wheel on the front and four-wheel suspension allow it to navigate uneven or slightly rough terrain.

It can be used from birth as a mono-pushchair, and up to four years old as a double pushchair with the addition of a CLOUD Z iSize car seat, a second seat unit, or Gazelle Cot. The new safety harness that is one-pull allows you to easily ensure your child's safety even when you're wearing your child on your back.

Contrary to other double strollers the Gazelle S folds down compactly with both seats connected, so it's easy to fold into storage spaces at home or in your trunk. A large lower basket can hold up to 25lbs of shopping, daily essentials or groceries. A detachable shopper basket provides more space for everything you buy. This stroller is highly versatile and comfortable for families thanks to its harness that is one-pull and large recline. It also comes with puncture-proof wheels so you won't be worried about those unexpected flat tubes during your trips away from home.

5. Nipper Double V5

The Nipper Double V5 is a new model from Out 'n' About of the award-winning buggies that are all-terrain. It was designed for twins or siblings and has independent reclining chairs, compatibility with carrycots, and an ultra-light frame for easy manoeuvrability on uneven terrain.

The height-adjustable handle and rear wheel suspension ensure a comfortable ride for children up to 22kg, and the hard-wearing pneumatic tyres are easy to clean and provide a smooth ride for jogging. The 360-degree swivel wheel is able to be locked to make it easier to manoeuvre around town. The one-pedal easy lock brake is also easy to use.

Our testers found that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to navigate, even on bumpy terrain or when turning on a busy road. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was also an enormous hit.

They also loved the fact that the hoods could be moved back and forward making them easy to adjust to the sun or for wind protection. They didn't provide the same coverage as Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It's worth having an additional rain cover in the case.

Overall, our testers were impressed with the Nipper double's ability to let them take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From seeing wildlife in the forest to rushing to the park to play with their friends they were thrilled. They were also amazed by how cozy and spacious the two seats are, with plenty of room for toddlers growing to stretch out in. The lack of parent-facing seating and the inability of using a car seats in this buggy were cited as a disadvantage by our testers. They would also have preferred a larger storage area for shopping and other equipment.
