Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The autonomous vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could be unable to pick up.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the best rated robot vacuum back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It can also get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is intuitive and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers many functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
