It then can alter its course automatically and clean them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
