1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive robot vacuums and best robotic mop and vacuum combos available. It uses lidar to navigate and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the behavior of the S1.

When I tested the S1, it was quick to map the downstairs area, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However it had some issues traversing the stairs in one go. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on the flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or carpet.

The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. Mopping capabilities are very good with a pair of spinning mop heads that are able to lift and scrub floors instead of dragging the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned with hot water and dried in the basestation as needed. The mops are also filled at the top of the station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. But their new flagship model is packed with impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender on our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee an efficient, customized clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It works equally well on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's most filthy areas well, and eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other messes. The sweeping performance is augmented by an additional side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that is placed along baseboards.

Its navigation is smart, navigating small spaces and negotiating stairways without stepping back. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction, which is a handy feature for larger homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than its competitors, however, and tends to leave a thick space around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.

Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings, change mopping and suction power settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for real-time video monitoring. You'll require a stable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 Pro

A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of removing dirt and debris, but it can't always reach every last bit of dust. It is important to clean regularly, once a week.
