Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain stroller that is light durable, sturdy and provides excellent maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold makes it's easy to move and is freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines into an almost flat position and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes with an additional carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and good suspension will handle rough terrain well. It's also suitable for jogging, although you must wait until your baby is six or nine months old before doing this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a great option for parents looking for a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. The travel system comes with a lie flat carrycot for babies and an adjustable forward and rear facing pushchair seat.

The XL Air is a really impressive buggy and it's simple to understand why it has received so many high marks from customers. It's extremely light - the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg and it's super-easy to build. In fact, I was able to complete the entire setup and running in just five minutes, which is pretty amazing considering that it also included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket has plenty of space, and I like that the handle bar comes with a pocket to keep your keys and phone secure.

The only issue is that the handlebar is low, which can be an issue for parents who are taller. But, it's covered in a lovely leather-like material that's soft and comfortable and cleans down easily, so it's still a breeze to push with children and bags on your hands!

The Runner is designed for parents who like to explore and are always on the go. The large pneumatic wheels can be used on field and forest trails. The front 3 wheel travel stroller is lockable and can be swiveled for added versatility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness and a front bar to keep your little one safe throughout your journey, while the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving while you rest. The comfortable seat is simple to recline to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy can be opened to allow to allow for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit mom or dad.

It's their latest and most expensive addition to their bargain lightweight 3 wheel stroller stroller line. Like the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo, it is car seat compatible, meaning you can use from birth.

The new Pace features some stunning design elements, like a rose gold tint to the hood, chassis and stroller trims to really set it apart from its rivals. The car seat and stroller fabrics are stylish in grey, tan, and cream. You can also add a leather handle and bumper bar to complement.

It is suitable from birth up to a max weight of 22kg and the stroller seat easily converts from a carrycot to a 2-in-1 reversible mode, parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat offers multiple lying positions, a comfortable padded leg rests and an extended sun canopy that has concealed zip sections, a viewing through flaps and an retractable sun visor.

What's more, when it's folded in half, the Pace is 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which means it can be used as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. It's also a breeze to collapse, with two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side which just click in and out. Then, it will pop up.

I tested it with my two children eight weeks old and a toddler - on rough pavements, grassy wooded walks and even cobblestones.

The wheels that are puncture-proof are large with a diameter of 22cm and 30cm so they can cope with lots of different terrains. They also come with a handy flap that can open or closes to let more air to circulate when you require it this is a nice addition. It's a bit bigger than some pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to clean. It's also quieter than other three wheeler pushchairs and I felt comfortable with it on busy urban streets. A bonus feature is that it incorporates accessory points, which means you can add footmuffs parasols, changing bags, and even a tray for snacks. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, but it isn't particularly waterproof. It's a single stroller, but you can add their Comfort 3 wheeled buggies Board (not included) to give your child a bit of legroom.
