Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good robot vacuum. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a clean sink as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
