World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade items track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips for items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's an indicator of the item's damage and quality. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

This is not the only thing that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the Best item upgrader was dropped can change its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can provide the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any ability that deals damage by five percent. These items can be purchased at the store or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
