WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade item their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
