The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary based on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating efficiently. In order to do this, you'll have to wash the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to keep them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. But, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially when compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option for your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum boasts 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of just dragging a pad across the surface. Mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station, if needed.

This robot has a simple interface that guides you through the process. The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction that is able to easily pick up dirt and other debris that other robots have difficulty with. Its navigation abilities are also pretty good robot vacuum, although it can be stuck on small mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). The mopping feature is pretty good as well, with a pair of spin mop heads that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station when needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance, making it a clear contender for our best automatic vacuum robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush will give you a thorough, customised clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently while avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping performance is augmented by a side brush that moves out to tackle difficult-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.

The Q5 was among the few robots we tested that did not have problems with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it could not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles.
