Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you enhance your gear without having to depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment give an increase in the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that improve your armor and weapons more effective. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products, upgrade item components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be forged to give additional benefits. A glyph that is crafted can boost the upgrade chances of its target, while an upgrade boosts the defense or attack capabilities of weapons.

Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item will gain when upgraded using that component. Organic components, like have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then switch to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they are able to receive. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item or set piece, it will receive an increase of +1 to its primary stat. In subsequent upgrades the stats of the primary one will be boosted a little more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item upgrade with an additional stats is boosted randomly.

Upgrades can also boost a weapon's damage base. This can be crucial for certain types of builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a higher defense base than their normal base. It is a good option to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, however it is important to keep in mind that they might not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled once and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling

The new item upgraded will still come with the extra bonuses of the original one, but its stats will be different too.
