1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

It swiftly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back again.

This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives the ability to connect two attachments and a Wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is still enough to clean most of an average-sized house but not long enough to get every single area (though an additional run-through often can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice addition.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often runs out of battery power before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better navigate its own. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models that we tested, and this could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum bot has an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also create a live stream from the robot cleaner amazon's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be cleaned to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that self-empties to keep the robot's dustbin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.

The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The app makes it possible to steer the robot cleaner commercial manually in the event of need. For example, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tried.
